AT&T
Park is a stadium located in San Francisco, California, in the South Market
District. It is located at 24 Willie Mays Plaza at the intersection of Third
and King Avenues. Moreover, it has served as the home of Major League
Baseball's San Francisco Giants since 2000. Originally named Pacific Bell Park,
later renamed SBC Park in 2003 following the Pacific Bell takeover by BC, the
stadium was finally christened T&T Park in 2006 after the merger of SBC
with AT&T park.
The
yearly Kraft Battle Hunger Bowl, a college football bowl game, and other
occasional sports and musical activities are also held in the park. The park
will function as the home of the California Golden Bears football team for the
2011 season. On days where the Giants do not play, Giants Ventures, a
wholly-owned affiliate of the San Francisco Giants founded and led by long-time
team executive and marketing icon Pat Gallagher, introduces non-baseball
activities to AT&T Park. The use of the stadium for football was popular
among them. The par now most commonly called as Oracle park.
